Reunion 2009 Information

The Iowa Braille School Alumni Association (IBSAA) cordially invites you to attend the 2009 Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School reunion to be held June 12-14 at the Iowa Braille School Campus in Vinton.

Registration will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Main entrance of Old Main.

This year we will be in the Main Building and as in the past rooming is on a first come first served basis. We will do our best to accommodate everyone. You will need to bring bed linens, towels and other toiletries and if at all possible and you are willing to use it an air mattress, this will allow us to accommodate more persons wanting to stay on campus. You are responsible for any equipment you choose to bring (computers, radios, etc. ) It is advisable to register early to secure a room as they tend to fill quickly. .

The Alumni Association will hold it’s annual meeting on Saturday morning at 9 am. Members will be electing persons to fill the following positions: President, Secretary, Corresponding secretary, Treasurer and four directors at large. If you wish to vote or to run for a position, please be sure your dues are paid before May 12, 2009. If you wish to become a member of IBSAA fill out the membership form and return it to us along with your payment to the address listed.

The registration form, which will describe the reunion packages that are available this year should be returned to us as soon as possible and no later then June 1, 2009. We must stress the fact that rooms are very limited and are on a first come first serve basis.

As in years past, state law prohibits firearms, alcohol and drugs at the School, new state law also bans smoking on campus. If you want to smoke you may do so in a personal vehicle or off campus. There will be a designated guide dog relief area; you are responsible for picking up after your dog. We’re grateful to the School for allowing us to use the campus and hope everyone will respect School property and rules.
